Precision lies within the bone of consciousness. When we finally see it, it is already an open fracture.

We tend to think of “things” and “nothing,” as matter and space, but there is also “Thing” and “no-such-thing,” making “no-such-thing here” and “space” … relative to the point of expectation. In cognition, a reaction to a thing is not no-thing; the reaction depends upon a human apparatus, and including the apparatus is crucial to reconstructing reality from the fragments available.

The answer is easy, getting past timid questioning, impossible.  We prefer to think of the problem as getting past “frightening” questions, timidly.

I stare at the hour hand, and it clearly does not move, but I have a solid faith that it will move, and along with it, this mood will pass, and another will be here. I do not need to see the path. I only need to bide my time, divert myself, or (and why not?) stare down the Devil himself.

Advice on the future is like advice on sex. Why ask or advise an intricate wax figurine on how it should go about melting down into a warm gob? It will have plenty of questions for itself in the recollection, all of them previously irrelevant.

Reality is Truth that stuns. Truth is reality that dulls that pain.

I tried so hard over the decades to correct my inherited thinking procedure, and now I can’t bear the realization that they are the stupidest people who dominate my mind at its base.

When you object to a man’s use of the word, “God” you criticize his native tongue; of the word, “atheism,” his dissidence.

The truths of most value to us are simple to understand but not easy to climb under.

*

We too easily confuse outcomes from alternating our viewpoints with conceptual “syntheses,” because they often string together the same words.

*

The Will stands upright, and rarely gives any credit to the gravity required.

*

The best camouflage dons the prejudices of others.

*

Arrogance is ignorance of ignorance; righteous humility; ignorance of arrogance.

*

Too many are ill-rewarded for their humility. With that pat on the back for their the self-deprecation, they slip over their obligation to themselves.
